It's that time of the month again where we need to get ready for paying our web hosting company. Pathetic really how - in spite of the thousands of readers that visit this site every day - we struggle each month to raise even the funds needed for our dedicated server hosting package, leave alone hiring editorial staff to free up time for research and writing. Afghan blasts kill 3 US-led soldiers

Three more US-led soldiers have been killed in southern Afghanistan, bringing the July death toll among foreign troops in the country up to 91.

NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said in a statement on Saturday that the troops were killed in a number of explosions on Friday.

Five killed in seperate blasts in China

At least five people have been killed and 39 others injured in two separate explosions in central and northeastern China, local news agencies say.

In the first incident, four people lost their lives and 19 others were injured after an explosion ripped through a tax office in Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province late on Friday.

ISI chief cancels UK trip over PM claim

Pakistan's intelligence agency chief has cancelled a visit to the UK over British Premier David Cameron's allegation of Pakistan's relations with terrorists, reports say.

Head of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant General Ahmed Shuja Pasha cancelled a planned trip to Britain in protest to "the irresponsible remarks" of Cameron while he was on a visit to India, Pakistani media reported on Friday.

Afghans protest outside US Embassy

Afghans staged anti-US demonstration out outside the United States Embassy in Kabul, condemning the killing of civilians by foreign forces.

The Anti-American protests followed an incident in which a US military vehicle collided with an Afghan civilian car in the center of Kabul city, killing at least four civilians, a Press TV correspondent reported.

China denounces EU's Iran sanctions

China has voiced its disapproval of the new unilateral sanctions imposed by the EU against Iran over its nuclear program, urging a negotiated solution through diplomacy.

"China does not approve of the European Union's unilateral sanctions on Iran," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said in a Friday statement posted on the ministry's website, Reuters reported.

Militants attack NATO truck in Pakistan

Militants armed with heavy weapons in southwest Pakistan have blown up a tanker carrying oil for the US-led troops in neighboring Afghanistan.

The tanker, en route to Afghanistan from Karachi, came under attack in Pakistan's Balochistan Provinceon Friday, a Press TV correspondent reported.

Two protesters shot dead in Kashmir

Soldiers in Indian-controlled Kashmir have killed at least two protesters as they opened fire on hundreds of demonstrators in the volatile valley.

Witnesses say the two died on their way to hospital north of the Kashmiri capital of Srinagar.

US faces deadliest month in Afghan war

With 63 US service members killed, July has become the deadliest month for American forces stationed in war-torn Afghanistan.

June's record of 60 US fatalities was surpassed this month after separate bomb blasts killed at least three US soldiers in southern Afghanistan over the past 24 hours.

S Korean PM intends to resign

South Korean Prime Minister Chung Un-chan says he will step down after his attempt to revise the Sejong City development plan fails.

“A series of major political events has concluded with the July 28 by-elections, and I believe a clean slate has been prepared for the president to start the second half of his term,” JoongAng Daily quoted Chung as saying in a televised press conference on Thursday.

Three US-led troops die in Afghanistan

At least three servicemen with the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) have lost their lives in separate bomb attacks in volatile southern Afghanistan.

ISAF said in a Friday press release that the three service members died on Thursday due to IED (Improvised Explosive Device) strikes in southern Afghanistan. The alliance however did not announce the names or nationalities of the victims.
